RIPOSTE Br RIVER.
: , D
The river was apparently about at a stand
yesterday with three feet two or three inches
in the channel by the marks last evening. The
rather yesterday was cool and stormy, with
several light showers of rain. Rains appear
to have fallen in almost every direction, and
we will probably have some here before long.
The Leonora No. 2, from Cincinnati, is the
only arrival from below. She had a very fair
trip, inchnling a considerable amount of cot
ton, and came up over "Glass Rouse" on Sun
day evening, drawing three and a half feet.

Louis, ought to reae here to-day. The last
named bout, we understand, had—one hundred
ton, of metal to put off at Wheeling ' which
will lighten her up consldenably. The tow
twat I.la Rees, went down to receive the Im
porter of some of her freight.
