-of sheeting per month. This is doing very
well,•and we are glad to record such evi
dences, of "life in the old land;" het .we
expect ere long to go considerable ahead of
it. Extensive mills are now in course of
construction in Kalmla, B. C., on a larger
scale than any heretofore in operation in
the Efonth, where all kinds of cotton goods
are to bo manufactured, for the cheapest
home-spun to the finest "prints". or cali•
con. .
In connection with these cotton works,
there will be 'also a first-class paper mill,
where the best article of news, book, and
writing paper will be manufactured.
The location selected, Ealmia, in the ri
cialty ofAiken, S. C., is one particularly
suitable for the purpose, combining as it
