Considerable excitement was created at the
Mayor's office, this morning, by the pnbilea

informed that, as yet, no information had been
made ;against any tavern-keeper, for selling
on the previous Sabbath. The night pollee
had been instructed, on Saturday night, to
keep ri sharp watch upon the taverns, and re
peal, the result of thefr observations—whether
parties were ;facer' to enter and depart,
either at front or side doors; to notice
whether lights were kopt burning in the bar
rooms, ate. These observations were made by
