with the Murder.

The night before , the execution was spent
by the Unfortunate- men in as comfortable•
a manner as the circumstances of the cast
would admit. They were attended by their
spiritual advisers daring the night, and' they
exhibited a cheerfulness rather astonfshtng
for men sittutted as they were. They ate a
hearty supper, and conversed bq a very lively

probably not to exceed half an hour, while
Precke enjoyed a sound and comfortable sleep

not, and when asked If they wished to have
any counsel, Marschall at first replied that he

failed, and at fi fteen minutes before three
o'clock on Thursday, ft being the second day

Esq., Sheriff of the eounty, the death warrants

warrants were not expected so soon,their

At ten o'clock, the Sheriff - accompani e d by a
number of gentlemen, repaired to the cell of
/ramekin, when the death trarrant w. read
to him, fixing the time of execution. "between
the hours Of ten o'clock in the forenoon, and
three o'clock in the afternoon 01 Friday the
Eah day of January. A. D. ISM." At first he
-bud nothing tOsay, but when the spectators
began to leave Ills cell, he wept' bttteriy. Ile
was admonished not to look for a pardon, but
to prepare himself for the hitter day. It has
