LATE INTELLIGENCE
Haring weirdly examined the report made by
Capt. McGowan, of dbe steamship Star of the

tempt to reach Fort Sumter with reinforcements of
men and monitions,—lre.are compelled to regard
the failure of his minion as mainly attributable to
want of firomen and lon rot judgment in• Memell
at the criticaramment. Had he obeyed the in

—had be not utterly loin his presence of m un
der the practically harmleu fire of the Cummings

The Star rJ the. West, on arriving opposite Corn

had cleared all the difficult pumice, of the char,

the cooed and the character of bet cargo. That
the Captain knew such to he Ms order. and intend.

the fact of hie baying had all the monition., Ste.,„

away for laurichieg before entering the huhu.
