The Display Ust Night.
Never has Pittsburgh witnessed snob a night
of rejolcfog as lasi night. The display all along
the lias of procession was msgnitosnt beyond
description. The Whole route was in a blase of
light from beginning to end, and the prooesslou
*** (reeled at every poiot with oheere, waving
of handkerohiefe, displays of fireworks, and
every other possible manifestation of joy. There
was no mookery of the enemy, no Insult to tbe
felleo foe. On tbe oootrary, the joy at tbe great
■access of the Republicans on the 9ih was 100
deep and genolos to find vent io any but (fas
most deoorous manner. The night was pleasant
and clear* and thi/ whole affstr passed off pled
snotly. The lurn-qqt of the people was immense,
and the demonstration was, In all rsipeoU, what
U was intended Io l>e, a grand ovation In honor
of the grandest victory of the age.
