The report of the committee, with accompanying
documents,woipresented by Mr. Floyd. There*
port .contains the following statement:
That the writ of the Supreme Court, i&sued in Jan*
uery, 1860, commands the Council* to make full-ami
ample provision for the payment of alt the interest
now (then) due upon the bonds of the said road.
' That the Interest doe upon the said bonds at the
time of the issue of the said writ was $31,500.
That the assessed valuation of the city is $10,327,*
726, and to raise the required sum of $31,500, will
require a levy of 3} mills.
The levy of Si mills on this valuation will produce,
in gross, $36,147; deduct 10'per cent for losses and
costs of eolleetloo, leaves $32, 533.
AU of whieb is respectfully submitted. Signed by
the Committee, Aaron Floyd, Joseph Ross and Jas.
Robb.
The report was accepted.
On motion of Mr. Wide, the ordinance to levy the
tar to pay the interest on the Cheniers Valley Rail*
road hoods, was taken up.
