of the one who was executed at Charlfcatown,
for participation in the Harper'a Perry disturb
jnce. Young Coppio, after the arrest of his
brother ana John Brown, managed to escape
to Canada, but recently returned to his homo at
Spring Grove, lowa.
Gov. Kirkwook, on examining the Virginia
officer's papere, elated that they were informal
and refosed Mb warrant. The officer then sought
the aid of the United Stales Marshal, but, in the
meantime, a friend or Coppio started on horse
back to Inform him of his danger; and it is pre
sumed ho escaped before the United Stales Mar
shal could reach his house.
