ficial dispatch was received from New Orleans, stat
ing that the steamer Philadelphia had bean seized by
the I'. S. Marshal. An aoswer was immediately
transmitted directing the retention of the Captain
and crew in view of judicial proceedings, and to hold
the vessel, which, if it shall be found that she was
employed in the filibustering expedition, will be sub
ject to forfeiture. The dispatch farther stated that
the artillery company from Batoo Houge was on the.
way to the point where it was said the Gllibusters
have congregated, ready to be used by the Marshal
as occasion may require in the effort to arrest them.

ment between Oeoerala Well and Degollado. The

organized. The brigade of Zacatres was supported

also incorporated itself with the division of the cen
tre. Numerous deserters from the enemy are report

tration of troops for a combined atfcack, nor does it
