MUNICIPAL COUP D ' ETAT.—Yeaterday morn ing a coup d'etat. was made manifest. The Oregon lot which has been fenced in recently, contained not lees than two hundred "little pigs, big pigs and hogs." Not only among the pork ers was there evidently an excitement, hut among their owners as well. All the forenoon a throng of anxious visitors, meetly women, flowed toward the Mayor's office, and many tt "darlin" pig was the object of anxious Inquiry. It happens that the notice to owners of hogs and dogs, which has been posted for several weeks on the street corners and referred to In the city press, calling the attention of said own ers' to the ordinance relative to shutting up their animals, has attracted but little attention. Day after day complaints have been laid before the Mayor against these wandering quadrupeds. So, on Thursday night, a large body of the po lice was detailed to all parts of the city. As Louis Napoleon posted his troops on the night before the 2d of December and caught all Paris napping, so the police of this city had their four legged foes in a net as it were. The morning saw this great crowd safely stored. The pleas that were urged through tho day la behalf of "spotted pigs," "white little pigs," "intelligent pigs," and other styles of pigs were more amusing than any we ever beard. They were mostly vain however, as the keepers of the pound charged one dollar each for small pigs, and two dollars for large ones. About 100 had been bought off &Leveeing, and 108 yet remain ed. Those which may not be redeemed before Saturday, will be sold at auction or to eons° one who may desire to buy on speculation or for the eake of economy. Tho citizens of Pittsburgh bars been for • long time tormented with stray equeolere on all their thoroughfares. Hereafter we trust there will be a respite, and those who will keep hogs in the city in hot weather will keep them in du rance vile. DEATH or CHAILLIS M.
