Oho now crop, talren from the Memphis Appeal,
.oppeared in one commercial 1:10112610 yesterday.
In reference to the same lot of wheat, the Mem
phis Bulletin of Thursday, the 26th has the fol
lowing:
"The first wheat of the new crop, sold on
Tuesday by Messrs. Gates, Wood & McKnight,
of If Id oh we made mention yesterday, was sent
to fit. Louis by the Lightning Express train on
the Memphis and Ohio Railroad, leaving hero at
7.45 o'clock yesterday morning. 'lt will reach
St. Louis this morning, going through in twen
ty-two hours. The wheat in question was har
vested in Mississippi on Monday, reached Mem
phis and was sold on Tuesday, and will be re
ceived at the mills in St. Louts on Thursday—
only about seventy-two hours from the field.
Snob activity and enterprise as this speaks for
itself. We atoll probably be In receipt from St.
Louis, within the next five or six days, of now
flour, the productof the present crop, and which
from the present appearances, will be the first
manufactured this season in any portion of the
euthern country."—St. Louis Dem.
