Itfy suggestion la based on the presence of arsenic, in small quantities, in a great variety of sub stances to nature. It was found by Watcher DS every iron ore ' In theaoil, marl, and in the sed iments of ten different mineral spring'. Diehl ding the so well known ones at Elms, Wiesbaden and Prig:tont. It has also been found in twenty-seven of the mineral springs of France... , In one of these, one-thirti eth of a.grain was foetid in one gallon of water. Arsenio has oleo: been detected in mineral coal ; from two pounds of coal, thirty grains of arsenic were obtained. .One-sixteenth of a grain of arsenic was found in two pounds of the rent due obtained by evaporating sea water. Arsen io has also been deteeted in charcoal, in pine wood, in the straw and chaff of rye, in the leaves of aio cabbage, in the root of the white turnip, in potato° balls, and In our old linen. Many of ' the medicines now in use contain arsenic as .an io..purity ; all the andmonial preparations, in cluding tartar emetic, are liable to be coatami. , nat.! by it. The approaching train upon the same track, moving in whichever direction, instead of porn ' ing in collision, would run up the inclined tracks, pass safely over the tops of the cars that stood in the way, and down upon the main track again in the twinkling of an eye. Neither the invent or nor Scientifo American informs us That would be the consequences of a collision be tween two approaching trains, each having the "new idea" attached; we are left I. speculate which would go over, or which would go un der, or whether they would not both go over, and under, and through, and every other way. lilassacutrerrre.— r The whole Republican Stele ticket is elected, all follows: Governor—Nathaniel P.
