Cooper, charged With counterfeiting the money of the United States, was called up by the Dis trict Attorney, but the latter, after the jury was empaneled, did not press conviction against Cooper, uho had appeared as a witnees for the Government ,against another party, while Judge Shaler was District Attorney. The jury return ! ed a verdict of not guilty. The traverse jury was then discharged, and the Court adjourned till next term.
