Old Allegheny Bridge Stock. —We do not know of a more excellent investment than that whioh is offered to the publio this evening, by the managers of the Old St. Clair Street Bridge. Oar readers are aware that the present unsightly structure is to give place to an elegant Suspen sion Bridge, one that will be on ornament to the city; and this improvement is necessary to ac commodate the great rash of travel whioh tho present structure commando. Selden, Esq , who was brought beforo the Court yesterday for con tempt, the Judgo read a lengthy specihoat ton of charge* against tho said G. S. Selden for mij behavior and contempt, which was ordered to be ? n application of Messrs. MeCandless and William-, who appeared for Mr. Selden The Court granted until next Saturday m in o clock for .Mr. S. to file his answer. The alleged contempt arose in a case ou which Mr. Selden is counsel, it beingtbecaee of Wilson, Lamer & Co. vs. O’Hara. Some ruisslatemen' in a bill of exceptions appeared to hare been made, and the bill of specification sets forth that Mr. Selden, in a loud and menacing tone, addressed the Court in a language conveying charges that wore contemptuous and insult,ng to that honor able body, which charges and declarations aro fully set forth in the bill aforesaid. The Judge remarked at the time that the language was im proper and tku Mr. S. incurred the liability of having his nsthe-strichen from the roll of attor neys in the Court, after which, while the crier was about adjourning tho Court, and wbilo the Judge was still on the bench, Mr. S remarked, as u alleged, that “ho would like to see them strike his name off." The case yesterday, in which Mr. Selden ap peared before the bar of the Court, excited n good deal of interest among the members of tli bar.
