"We are informed that an agent of Gen. Yid

with authority to procure a loanj-guarantecd by
a mortgage of all the Custom House duties of the

loan will be inherently null and void. His also

dition which should arrive at a Mexican port,
even under the pretext of assisting the Liberal
or Constitutional parly, would be regarded as
filibusters, and tie individuals composing it
treated as such.

improvement of the Allegheny Commons came
up lately in tbe House. It has passed tbe Sen
ate, aud when it came up in the House, Mr.
Voeghlly offered an amendment, “that all ex
penses for improving the Commons, and all dam
ages urising from the improvement of the same,
ehall be paid only out of such moneys as are
given for the purpose before the beginning of
tho same, and that no taxes be paid, aud no war
rant on the City Treasury bo given opt for such
purposes as the embellishment of tho city by im
provement of the Commons.”
Concerning the Jomagcs, we cannot under
stand what Mr. Voeghlly may mean, if not that
of the proprietors of the cows and hogs, which,
os. everybody knows, have now the exclusive
right of tbe Commons. We hope aod trust that
Mr. Yoeghtly’s amendment may be lost; for it
is shameful to the citizens of Allegheny, that
these places, which have beenpresented by noble
hearted men for the embellishment of tbe city,
are used only os pastures for cows and hogs, and
