At 3 I'. 31. the Rev. Iliram Miller, of Brownsville,
P., discoursed from Ileb. 12, 14. followed with
prayer meeting at public stand. The Ref. W. A.
Davidson, of Trinity Church. Ninth Ward, preached
the last sermon, from the text found in St. Luke.
14th chapter and 24th verse, followed - with prayer
meeting—with penitent seekers forward for the
prayers of the congregation.
Public prayer meetings were 'held at different
(large) tents on the ground until midnight, conduct-.
ed by ministers—with seekers of religion in each
tent, when the horn summoned the people to gather
into the place for holding public worship, to engage
in the closing exercises. preparatory to striking the
lents and leaving the ground. The exercises com
menced with singing and prayer. after which the
Rev. W. Lynch, of Liberty Street Church, delivered
on address, at the close inviting persons to unite
with the church. Over twenty joined, besides them
who had united at an early stage of the meeting.—
Then the Rev. Mr. lteiley delivered an exhortation,
after which the congregation joined in singing the
Rine-honored covenant hymn commencing :
.Come let us nee the Witt, divine."
Then the congregation formed into a procession,
three and four abreast, led by ministers, who passed
around the inside of the circle once, singing soul.
stirring songs, when the parting hand was taken—
the arrangements enabling each one to do so. This
imolai greeting over the procession was reformed and
they returned to the public stand when several hymns
were sung—the doxology "Praise lied from whom
all blessings Ilan" was sung. followed with the bene
diction by Rev. W. A. Davidson.. Notwithstanding
the meeting wan declared over at 2 A. Zr!,, Thursday,
, L uite a number spent the few hours until daylight in
singing and prayer. At early 'lawn the work of
demolition commenced, and in a few hours the spot,
for a week so full of life, became in a good measure
deserted.
Ten Central Board of Education met on 'Thurs
day evening. for the purpose of hearing tho report of
the Principal of the high School, on the re-examin
ation of those applicants eh.. failed to he present at
the late examination.

furnishes papers from all points as late as due.
The Ulan papers abound with statements of
Indian hoitilities. The Indians had appeared
in the vicinity of San Antonio. Capt. Whiting,
of the second cavalry, who went in pursuit, has
captured all the horses and mules taken from
the San Diego mail train. Capt. Pope's party
had arrived at Fort Clark, rill well. The Indians
had been troublesome along the route: they
were defeated ih two engagements near Fort
Lancaster. A sergeant in the Sth Infantry, U.
S. troop, was killed. The Indians were armed
with Sharpe's and Colt's rifles.
