Tun Coau Taanr.--The coal trade was, perhaps ,
never better than it bas been this year, at least, if
we consider the amount that has gone to market.—
The experience of last winter's fuel famine in Cincin
nati and other cities in the Ohio Valley, bas taught
the citizens of those places a lesson of providence
and they have profited by it. The trade whichever,
ed so briskly with the opening of the river, has not
flagged greatly. The ruling price is now from ten
to eleven cents, 'we are informed, in Cincinnati.

do a disinterested action except from an Interested

doing it for the purpose of being admired and praised.

and Mexican Ministers had a long conference,
without improving the Mexican question; in fact
the situation of affairs between the two countries
is considered critic.. The English and French
Ambassadors at Madrid are striving to effect a
reconciliation. The report that General Concha
had sent vessels of war to the coast of Mexico is
fully confirmed.
Later advises state that the Mexican Minister
positively intends to leave Madrid in the course
