New YORK, June 111.--Ex-Aldermau D. D.
Conover, the Govertior's appointee tic Street
Commissioner, HAS again ejected to-day trout
the Street Commicsioneec Room. by Mayor
Woods' police, who were detained in cure or a
riot occurring. Gov. King is in town.
Another serious riot between the two police
forces occurred at the Park to-day in conse
quence-of an attempt made by n body* Metro
politan police to arrest Mayor Wood and Sheriff
Willett, on a warrant granted by Judge Hoffman
for assault on Mr. Conover, the Metropolitan
Commissioner of Streets. The Metropolitan
police, while ascending in a body the emirs of
the City Hall, were beaten hack with clubs by
the Mayor's police, and many were badly hurt.
Capt. Dilks is reported mortally wounded. The
Park is filled with an excited crowd. It is re
ported that the militiry has been called out.
SECOND DISPATCH
Mayor Wood surrendered himself to the Sher
iff and gave bonnie in $5OOO. The Sheriff gave
himself tip to the Coroner. The National Guards
who were under arms and were about starting
to Boston, to participate in the Battle of Bunker
Hill celebration, then left for that city.
The 12th region Id of State troops are now
tinder arms. Several of the Metropolitan Po
licemen were badly injured in the affray, and
their recovery is doubtful.
Sr. Loris, June 16.—The Convention met at
Topeka on the 9th, Gen. Lane presiding. A rev
olution was adopted disowning the Senitorial
Government and declairing admission into the
Union tinder the Topeka Constitution the only
method of adjusting the difficulties and pledging
to permit) the application pending before Con
gress, believing the measure en just and accord
ant with the principles of the past Legislation of
the Country that it must eventually be conceded,
that it is the duty of the Legislature to complete
the State organization. Other resolutions rec
ommending the free State party to disregard
the approaching election and casting suspicion
un any mitts who consents to become a dandidato
for the Constitutional Convention were passed.
The Convention then adjourned.
