They aro worthy of tho support of every one.
The movements which the new cone:ruction
put upon the Constitution by the Supreme Court
were so directly caloulated to excite, do not

the passage.of an bet In ice Legieletuto, with an
overwhelming majority, dpigned to remove
every restriodou which hadheretofore operated

Pennsylvania meets the declaration of the party
majority of the Court that Congress has no
power to exclude Slavery from tho Territories,
by nominating for Its Chief Magistrate the man

as the candidate for the highest race in the

most clearly and emphatically expressed. Cer

Mr. Wilmot ought to be next Governor of

I hope I may not be deviating from the most
refined delicacy If I take the liberty of making
you more particularly acquainted with his hie.
tory, character and deportment. Hie family
origlually resided on Ohio continent bat making
a tear to Ireland, they met . with each a hearty
welcome, and became eo popular, that they were

you will acknowledge ho has Just reason to be''
proud.
He is by nature poseessod of many admirable
qualities, and ednoation has, I trust, given them
additional lustre, while It has taken nothing
from his original strength of character. His
appearance next calls for our attention and his
figure will at once remind you of that "lino of
beauty" to which Hogarth la part ewes his im
mortality. His complexion is of that bronzed hue,
which le so mnoh admired by the ladies, and is
Bold by the knowing ones, to be one reason why
the eons of Mall and Neptune are in such favor
with them. But his moral qualities are far - snore
Important, and they 'arc mob as will, I Imow,

conclude, there is mach of the "milk of human

of the joke. Ells manners ore eoft without being
effeminate, and Me jokes spicy.
He le very to make the acquaintance
of a person he has admired at an humble dis
tance, and naturally desirous to make a favora

tiering the Intimacy of our friendship, I might
say our near relationship, that I participate In
his sollottude. I have at other times found him
all I describe, but It may be, like other diffident
persons he may bo least luocessful when making
a particular effort. Allow me to recommend to
you to make hint a cares friend before you pro
