Monongahela wharf. Is appropriated to the com
pletion of the grading and paving of said wharf.
Under this ordinance there Is now In the hands
of the Treasurer, subject to the order of the com
mittee on Monongahela whorl, the sum of 4737.113,
which. as required by the ordinance which creates
this revenue, the Treasurer has kept In a separate
fund, for the purpose epecilled.

documents, prepared by the Superintendent and
Assessor, for a synOpsis of the operations of the
works during the year.
The severity of last winter told heavily a n
every part of the Water Works, nearly 510,.
have been paid during the year for renewal of
berated pipes and increased running erpenae• ad
sing from Malamute. Every precaution was taken
to keep the establishment In satisfactory working
order, and to the unflinching energy displayed by
all the men employed by the department Is attrib
uted its efficiency during so disastrous a seactoo.
The gross revenue from the works this year,lu
eluding vrater rents, new building tax, ferrules,
loose and ground rents, amounrs to $57,85047.
The expenditures are 8e1a,40i.93, leaving a haLuice
in favor of die city of 16•29.359.39, making dtoget h.
er the most favorable report ever made of the fi
nances of the works, if doe allowance be made
for the extraordinary expenses moaned last win
ter.
The average amount of water supplied by the

city, with whom we exchange reports; the Main
