Bonet estate made taxable by law for State pur poses, for the ensuing three years, shall oat be inorestood by this Board beyond the valuation fixed by the Revenue Board of 1854, notwith standing the returns from the several counties, of amend property, may show an IDC/0690 That upon a sum not oxoeoding the basis of the valuation of 1859, as aforesaid, this Board obeli adjust and equalize the lame, upon principles of justice and equality. After some discussion this additional resolu tion by the same gentleman: Resolved, That to the opinion of this Board the total amount of taxes raised and paid iato the Treasury for the fiscal year of 1855, should not in any we, hereafter exceed that sum; and that this Board entertain no doubt but that under their power to equalize., they may reduce as well as raise the valuation.
