Tea Dams or FELIZOSS-it is clearly evident
from the tone of the Badman and Fillmore
organs, which now sympathise with each other
and almost make a commis canoe, that they
hare no expectation of Fitknore's election, or
that be will carry eves one electoral Tote Hie
title is to aid littahansa. But for this he would
be deserted by his whole body of supporters in
the Booth, and by the loaders in the North—the
masaee•in the Free States could not be carried
over tw - linchinan, .and that is the reason Fill
more is kept on the, track. •
To prove the truth of theeapositiona we quote
the follovlngsixtrsots from an.artiele' in the
Baltitnoro Amerialn, a .Fillmore paper:
F.lolloiieli.uoMlLT OosrAoLE."—lf the Black
Hepublleana at the North bad no , ono bat Nu

Here is the admission that with s direet Issue
between Fremont and lineitinan, or rather be.,
tween Freedom and Slavery. Fremont would
curry the Free Stater. We quote further from
the same paper :
..It le agreed very generally that Mr..S . Mai m%
stands between the country and the certain
triumph of the Republicans. That ehould ho
withdraw, Mr. Fremont meet be elected. That
the only possible chance Mr. Bactanan noir hat,
or ever had of being elected, is given him by the
fact that Mr. Fillmore is a candidate."
The saint article aeserta thrit Buchanan will
not carry a free State, and that Fremont will not
carry a elate State, but That Mr. Fillmore will
carry some on either side of the line, and that
the 'leaden is thus morally certain to go to the
Heim. What will.take place there, to thee fore
ehadowed :
By the Constitution, when the people have,
failed to eleot, the Rome chooses President from
the three highest on the 'list, and• the Senate
choose e Vice President from the two highest on
the list. The Senate have no power to choose a
President, nor the House a Vine Provident. 'lf
the louse fail to eleot a President heroes the 4th
of Ruch, then the Vice President shall act m
President: In the event of each frilore, there
fore, the eholm of a President 'lethally devolves
on the Senate, for the Senate choose the Viet)
President, end the Vice President ants as freal
' dent. •
If the House fail to choose a President before
the 4th of March, the three candidates for the
office - me President are whilly sot aside, and, opt
on snub failure, neither Mr. Boobies°, nor Mr.
Fremont, not Mr. Fillmore can be chosen at all.
In tho event enppoaed, the contest will qs be•
tween the two highest on the ilea for ciao Pres
ident, and as the Senate is now cooetitnted, Mr.
Breath:Ridge, If, be be ono of the two highest on
the list, will be the man.
Now the certainty that a Democratic,President
must be the cosequence of permitting right of
°ham to peg from the House into the hands of
the Senate, Is a fiat which we meet courtantly
bear to mind. for that foot is to Inficianoo In-an
essential manner the choice of a President by
the House.
Tho Demobrato know that they may with per
feat eafoty hold on until after the 4th of March.
That if they lose Mr. Buchanan by allowing . the
election tcego to the Senate, they will gain. Mr.
Breckinridge,'end of all parties in the world they
care least about men. The Democracy of the
Honer. therefore, will stand firm. The 4th of
March may come and not a man Will bare strag
gled from their ranks.
The Americans know that by standing firmly
together the worst that can happen will be the
election cf a Democratic President. Let the 4th
of March come for them and it only gives them

sere boy, -without political knowledge or experi

Here is the whole programme. The 'vont
that happen" says this Fillmore paper, the
election of e Democratic Freshlent," which it is
evident is not considered very bad. The Fill
more men soy that they will never vote for
"Fremont, a mere boy"—be Is forty-arre years

Flllmore under such circumstances, the result
Is, Breokenridge of Kentucky, a slareholder and
a slave-extensiordst will be President.
Now ask the friends of Mr. Fillmore in the
Free grates, how they like the programme laid
down for them by their Southern friends. Are
they willing to play second fiddle to Buchanan
and Breaearidge, and see the cause of slavery
extended over the Country. The only result of
supportlog Fillmore Is to help Baseso. This
le the honest-truth, and it cannot be gatesayed
by any honest man.
The State Fair at Pittsburgh.
The annual exhibition of the Pennsylvania
State Astrlnotto,...l Lour
here on the let of Ontither next, will no doubt be
as successful as any which has been held by the
Society.
The stir that is,made among the people of the

the occasion of the approaching exhibition there
will be ono of those general ootpourtngs of the

The sale of etock at the exhibition willtia
very important and interesting part of the pro.

rotary of the Society, that there hes been an
unusual inquiry as to whether there v °cid' likely
be good breeding and milk cattle on exhibition
that could be bought. To these Inqutiler, re- •
plies bays been given that there will no doubt be
some very fine stook to be sold; and for the
convenience of the exhibitors and those who de.
elm to purchase, a time will be net apart for a
nubile sale. It le evident that the farmers In
this neighborhood are awakening to their true,
interest, and are determined to, avail themselves
of the opportunity afforded by the State Pair, to
provide them/live; with approved breeds of
stook.
Swine of a certain kind have been greatly in

furnish, in carrying all stock to and from the
Fair free of charge, we cannot but think that we
will have such flue herds of stook as were never
before exhibited at any previous exhibition.
Tho preparation' la almost every department
for the Fair are nearly completed and by ths
