resolutions on the subject of slavery in the terri
tories which are at variance with the tradition

their tendency, and immoral in their results; and
forasmuch, also, as the question of slavery ex
tension hoe been forced by the administration
and the Ciectimati Convention into paramount
Importance, pod is made by politicians the binge
on which all other questions turn—therefore
Resolved, by the Democrats here assembled,
representing the Democracy of the State, That
we T ap:atilt° these Conventions and all their pro.'
leeedings, and will actor independently of them' ,
as if they bad never assembled.
Resolved, That as Democrats we stand upon
tht(platforms of Janson and Jaelmon, ot Tomptins
and Wright—on principles which do nchange
with the clamor of packed conventions or scheme'
of mitten after nomination, and because the ex
tension of slavery has never been and can never
be the purpose or rerun, immediate or remote
of the true democracy. We hereby declare our
uncompromising hostility toil and our firm mo
b:idea to resist it by every lawful MOW. WO will
vote for no man who contributes telt directly or
indirectly, and we will oppose the elution of any
personwho does not oppose it as we do.
Resolved, That because the nominees of the
.Cincinnati ConTention are pledged to make the
resolutions of that Convention their guide and
rule of-conduet, and because theiralection would
prolong and tend to perpetuate the deplorable
misrule of the present admizietratiou, and be
cause the exigencies of the times demand the
union of all '

dom or slavery in Kansas. The q election of Mr.

government, while the election of Mr. Fremont
