to gay what the decision of the General Synod of
the West was.
Mr. William Taggart thought that it should be
overtored to the whole body, as one Synod had
not power to alter a single word of the county

in the affirmative by a vote of 40 to 28.
- The answers to the second and third questions
of Monongahela Presbytery were laid on the ta,
ble. The negative answer to the fourth question
'Was adopted.
The Delegate Fend Committee reported.—

- - The Home Mission Fund Committee reported
the following apportionments.
Synod of New York - - - $1,200.
let Synod of the West - - - 3,600.
2d Synod of the West - - - 1,600.
Synod 'of Ilinote - - 800.
The Treasurer's. Deport was referred to the
auditing Committee.
Oa motion the next Synod will be held in the
Street Church, New York City, on the 4th
. Tuesday of May.

on an information for Surety of the Peace. The
fiefaidant was sentenced to pay the costs.
A jury being empanneled, Patrick Kelly was I
arraigned for the larceny of a brown broadcloth
fintwoat,valtted at $l5, the property of William
8. - Watker.' The prisoner plead guilty, oral wag
sentenced by tho Court to imprisonment in the
county jell for amidering the term of fin months.
• Udall Price, it colored lad, was found guilty
of an. Assault and Battery upon Jeremiah Vial
-bite. He vas sentenced toimprisonment in the
jalifor one month.
Thomas Pyle wem brought in for trial for the
alleged larceny of a pair of pantaloons from a
.tailor named Henry Rolm The prisoner and
anotheeman entered the complainent's stern, on
Market street, in company with two other
per
sow, on the presence of examining the goods
with a view of purchasing. Ho was obeerred
to secrete $ pair of pantaloons under his shirt,
and hitras thereupon accused of it, when he ran
from the stere, closely pruned. Re took refuge
in the store of a man named Sliver, where he
was arrested, hoeing first thrown the stolen arti
cle undei the *tauter. No defence was made,
• and the jury after a short absence returned with
•erirdiet of guilty in manner and form as he
stood indicted- The prisoner was remanded.
Charles Bothwell and Thomas Hughes, Pad
guilty to the larceny of two pale of pantopralued .
