A letter from Bea Mr. Herron, Missionary
to California, was read. He said there wore
but few male members of the church. His
congregation were fiery tired of the Psalms, and
he thought-he was not popular among them,
Him congregation had also shown a desire to
sustain' a choir, and those forming it had =mal
treated an intention to monopolize by singing
aka known to themselves only. ,
- The report' was referred to the committee on
sessions, who were instructed to report on
Weeder morning on that part referring to the
mission in San Francisco.
The regular order of business was suspended,
and the apecial order of the day—the presenta
tion of calls—was entered upon.
Mr. y. G. Carson accepted a call from South
Buffalo congregation, with the proviso that he

Mr. James Price accepted a call from the
Fondle congregation of Philadelphia.
Mr. D. R. Dar accepted a call from Glade Run I

memorialised Synod to repeal the deed of 1845.
The Synod last year resolved that its action then
was Injudicious.
The committee report that the congregation
hadjuit cause to complain, cad recommend their
reception into fellowship.
A yeti-lengthy dispassion earned, and several
amendments were proposal bat the time of ad
journment arrived hefore Tvote was taken.
Adjourned with prayer until Monday morning.

to the impropriety of granting a new view.

no authority in the charter of the Ohio & Penn

quential damage, snob as claimed for the in
creaml insurance on the factory. Re stated that
the Legislatara may legally omit in a charter the
