Conaptracy Case of tlom. vs. Walker, wife ani
eon came into Court yesterday morning after an
absence of twenty•four hours, unable to agree.
They were therefore discharged.
We smderetand that the jury stood nine for
conviction and three for acquittal. One of
the three was determined; the others inclined
to a venial convlolon. The defendant' are or
will be placed under bonds for another trial at
the June term, it being the determination of
the prosecutor to ,push the matter.

venture to say hag excited more interact than

proposals far holding the next State Pair. This
Committee, consisting of Robert C, Walker,

erford and A, Boyd Hamilton, will he to Pitts
burgh on Wednesday next for the purposes of
their appointment.. The Board of Managers of
the Allegheny County Agricultural Society will
meet at 9 o'clock on Wednesday morning, at the
Court House, for consultation with the State
Committee.

thenticated reports, that Mr Newton Dixon,
residing near the village of Columbiana, on
Saturday morning last, committed suicide, by
hanging himself on a tree on his farm. Mr. D.
was a respectable man, a farmer In good circum
stance!, and a member of the Ilicksite Society
of Friends. It is rumored, but with what truth
we have not been able to ascertain, that his
Melancholy termination of life is traceable to
