of the report of the Committee on Election&
Mr. Oliver bf Mo. addressed the House at

Mr. Reeder and others who had joined in the
wrizeordinasy movements for getting up Emi

rested the responsibility of all the Strife and
bloodshed in Kansas, their sole objeot being to
defeat what they termed the infamous Kansas- Nebraska CU . L
Them) things were caloulmed
justly to excite the 'palmation of the people of
Idlessomi and Kansas territory. Mr.aliver
ia
digoantly repelled the term of "Border Rat

rights and with nerve enough to maintain them.
Mr. Oliver did not know any Missourians who
voted In Kansas; he hadisitacesed hundreds of
eastern men returning from the territory who had
arid thej had seen the elephant;" filled tht le con
tract to vote and were going home. To authorise
a committee to send persons and papers, would
be to glee countenance to revelation and defi
ance to law. He trusted that the Raise would
refuse this request made at the instance of ttie

not only to make these territories free but to
establish a cordon of Free States to.the Pacific.
