It then, dsy after day, presented Mr. Faisal
an an antl•Nebraska man, and urged him as

even when the evidence to the contrary was
growing glaiingly.abitinet. We know nothing,
as yet, of the position of the members of Con

The Philadelphih papers bring as the votes of
the 'event delegations in the American Na

SlRinger's resolution, which was laid on the
table by a decided vote. Mr. Sillingeee reso
lution was as follow, :
"Raolord, That the National Connell has no
authority to establish a platform of principles
for this Convention, and that we will nominate
- no person for President or Vice President who
is not in favor of interdloting the prohibition of
'slavery North of 86 30."
On the motion to In on the table, the. Penn

Yeas—Messrs. Thorne, Haxiehurst, Bnmm,
Stillwell, Stewart and Hetherington.
Bayr--ldessrs. Ckesier, Wa'bozo; Jones, Park,

For .Entrwre—Mesors. Thorne, Has!shan't,

Par Masan—Mr. HiSinger.
For Rayner—Messrs. Gooier, Park, Pomeroy

Metiers. Johnston, Walborn, Jones, Edits, WU-

Ott glancing over the vote in the Convention,
it appears that there were no votes tint from

—We alluded yesterday to the threatened re
bellion in the democratic reeks in the Empire
State. The State Soft Democratic State, Con
vent:lon, adopted strong pro-slavery resolutions
and elected delegates to represent the state in
the National Convention. This action seems to
have given umbrage.to the entielavery portion
of the party, ands counter movement has then?:
fore been made. A circular has been extensive
ly distributed through the interior of the State,
containing a brief address to the Democrats of
New York, and =Deluding with a recommenda

a meeting of Demoonate held in Albany city on
the 25th of January, at which time a State Cen
tral Committee of forty permss was appointed.
The circular glees the names of the persons
composing this committee, sad they are located
In various parts of the State. The Chairs= of
the Albany meeting was Platt Potter, a leading
Democrat, and C. B. Cochrane, one of the affi

FIuOLITTOL ACCIDLDT.--About 14:4 9 . 0100 k, ebb
morning, a dreadful crash took place in the for
warding and commission warehouse of Busby
& Co. No. 2,65 Market street, below Tenth,
upon t he north Bide.
The bonding, which was about thirty-flee feet
front, and one hundred and twenty-six feet deep,
was four stories in height, and it was stored in
every part with flour, grain in bulk, and other
produce.
The first intimation of danger was s crack
ing noise heard lu the joists and girder in the
second story, and in a few seconds they gave
' way, letting down the upper floors with their
heavy bnrthene and sealing the second Boor
to the first. • , •
The young men had been sent up to the root
of the back building, lust before the oraeh, for •
the purpose of graveling off the mow. One of
them named Timothy l'dphy, an Irishman, had.
jug quit work and gone into the third story
room .for the purpose of writing a-letter when
the mass of coins fell upon him, crushing him in
a shocking manner. Sometime elapsed before
hie body could be got out of the ruins. lie wee
found to be perfectly dead. The remaining man
narrowly escaped destruction.
At the time the math took piece the persons
in the building who were able to effect their es
cape, ran out into the street or intothe counting
room on the sosaem end of the second floor.
these persons escaped unhurt.
It is known that three men were engaged in
unloading one of the cars upon the western stook.
This car was completely buried in the 'ruins,
and it must Anevitably have been broken to
pleas, and there is scarcely a hope that the
men are not crushed to death.
The names of the men who are under the m
ine, Joseph Miller, car agent; „Martin Donahow
end &Jacob Crowley, laborers. These, in addl.
don to Timothy Murphy, who wee killed in the
thirl gory, make the number of persons
