Bosnon, Feb. 2.—The London Times of the
19th ult., received by the Arabia, points out to
Russia cod other powers the fallacy of supposing
that thereaclineas of the English nation to make
peace was at all proportioned to its unwilling
ness to dommence the war. It says the nation has
get over that first shook and is beginning to make
our elerdent of that which a Rule while ago we
regarded wi th the most genu ine horror and aver,
sloe. There is a strong sentiment which repines
at the termination of hostilities, before we have
bathe opportunity of putting forth our whole
strengtkand vindicating in a new field against a
new enemy our ancient renown: We mention
these things for the very sake of pesos, the pre
llmboaiies of which have as it appears, been
signed by Esterhazy and fleeselrode, for in the
present temper of the public' mind-of Engrand,
any attempt, however slight, to renew diplo
matic 19/110012tree, would result in an immedi
ate explosion of popular feeling; which might
render alt impossible to proceed further in a pa
cific direction.
The City article in the London Tina of Friday
evening says that the operations on the English
funds :to-day have been opmparqtively of a
steady character, and seems for the present to
have settled •in an improvement at the Stook
Exahazige. There was fuller employment for
money and short loans. Government Securities
were in request at fully 8 per cent. Ire fresh
news Liao transpired to influence the course of
bulimia, but the impression that the govern
ment *bile they are:resolved not to relapse in
their preparations, an disposed to believe that
the negotiation commenced will go on to a rapid
land satisfactory otothilusion, tending to give gen
eral stability to the appearance of the market.
