over this vicinity, a now building which was
being erectedhy a Mr. Hays, near the ferry in
Birmingham, and which had progressed as far
as the second story, was -blown down, precipita

considering that the Truk - melt were on the build
ing at the time. • .

Tho Ohio and Pennsylvania Horse Exhibition
commences on Wednesday the 10th inn. Hor
ses are hourly coming. The celebrated pacing
Horse Erank Pierce, of Cleveland, bas already
arrived; the renowned Orey Eagle 'salsa expec
ted to be present. The exhibition will continua
for three days.
Bonen, Oot. -B.—By an arrival kers to-day
from TraciNo dates from Venezuela are received
to the 18th of September: busieess was dull,
both at Truxillo and Omoa on account of the
Revolution.
General Alvaree at the head of 600 troops was
mucking against the rebels. A party of Goy
erment troops, while reoonnortering outside
Truzillo on the night of the 3d of September
were captured by a band of robbers who disarm
ed wad sent them back. Their report mused an
intense excitement in Trazillo, and all the cid
sena began to-arm. The 11. 8. Consul, with
the families of the principal citizens, sought
shelter on board vessels in the harbor, and re
mained there Um days.
On the 16th September a battle took piece
between the Government troops and the robbers,
when the latter were defeated with considerable
loss. Thileader was taken and beheaded.—
Many .families residing at Truzillo had fled, and
taken with them their property. At lots sow/unto
qalet,had been partially restored. It is report
ed Gust the revolutionary commander had been
killed.
A meeting of American residents was held
and resolutions were passed soliciting the pres
once of a U. 8. vessel, for the protection of
American interests. •
PIIILADICLPHIA, Oct, 8.--Tbia morning the
Passtnore Williamson Case, up in a new form in
the United States Distiict Court before Judge
Kane, an application wit made in the nature of
a petition from Jane Johnson, the former stare
of Col. John H. Wheeler to quash the writ of
habeas corpus which wan issued to Plummer°
Williamson to trial the bodies of said Jane and
her children before the Court.
John M. Read on the hab e as the applicant
contended that the writ of corpus =net
always be finned by or on behalf of the party
whose libirty is restrained and not for a party
wishing to restrain another. lie asked that the
.petition ehouldbe Med. After an argument in
support of his petition the Court adjentued.=
Mr. Read will resume his argument to-morrow.
