Last fall / the vote for Governor was, say, 16,000 • Suppose the Dem. poll this fall; 6000 Take available K. N. membership, 4000 Add outside votes to IL N.'a, say, 1000-10,000 Leaving in the county, of other voters, 6,000 If the rote should be as large as It wee kat fill, and if the Democrats should hare the same Tote and the N.'e poll 8000, atilt there are enough left to sleet the Republican ticket. Bat view it in smother light. Last year the average Whig vote was 4888; or take Landes rote, 4827. Where are all these Whigs now? Elonteit them no doubt hare joined the R.N.Order. But so far u we have any information, a good many more have left it, or will do so this fall, than have joined. The distinctive Whig vote in the county at this time, if it can be rallied on our tick% we believe is greater than it was last fall —wrput it down at not lees than 6000. Add to these the Frei Boilers - and anti-slavery Dromo orsts—nearly all of whom were in the-K. N. Or der, but hare left it, and we bare a number quite sufficient to elect the Republican ticket ova both the Democrata and K. N.'s. Row the only question Is can these totes be secured for the Republican ticket t Why not ? Any candid man who RID examine the three Ra tite moat mina that the Republican presents the beet and most imitable men. There being no 'Whig ticket in the field, every old line Whig, hoverer etrengly he may be attached to the old Whig name, can Tote this ticket with much more conabtancy than either of the others. The plat form of the party, being excinsirely anti-slavery, launottleetionable to the members of the old par ties, and being the only one that boldly meets the great question of the ago, affords an admits- Age rallying ground for all the Mends of humani ty and freedom Whip, Democrats and Free Boners and Eno w Feints,' can all meet= equal footing here.
