We bare heard from a very Creditable source,
says the Budd* that certain demonstrations
have already been made, which *ow that ground
will soon be broken to bring forth at least two
Dinnocratio candidates, for the Presidency, to
be submitted to the National Convention, to be
held .at Cincinnati in the early part of next
year. It Is somewhat singular that two promi
nent Louisianians, should be actively engaged
taking the initiative in these preliminaries, and
stranger yet, that each of them are working for
different individuals. An ex-Member of Con
gress, from a rural district in Louisiana, is wing
all his exertions and bananas In behalf of Mr.
Dane, of Philadelphia, and Jefferfon Davie, of
Mississippi; and at the proper time an open de
monstration will be made !dram of this ticket.
'For contra. Mr. Buchanan, our Minister at
London, will be soon coming home chock fall of
hope and expectation. Instead of embarking
direct for New York or Boston, he will do so
direct for Cuba, under the plea of ill health, or
something of the kind. From thence he will
proceed to New Orleans, when, under the super
vision of an adroit master of ceremonies he will
be put through, =dived with a grand flourish
of_ trumpets, publicly feasted and mot on his
way home rejoicing through the great West, on
• triumphal tour, visiting the several States on
the Ohio, and landing at Pittsburgh. This is the
present programme, bat it may be changed or
modified in *mordant:o with circumstances. Bu
chanan is a strong man, and not a nit wore of
an old fogy thin Dallas. Buchanan's Lieuten
ant would be his old and tried friend, Senator
Slidell. The waters are beginning to move,
sad we shall soon witness a palpable sensation.
Dallas and Davis, or Buchanan and Slidell, is
pretty mach determined upon as the ticket to
harmonise the Northern and Southern Demoorsey.
The H. N. &sooner, Committee met on Satur
day and thudded that the Snowden township
fraud was all right, just as entry body expected
it would. It had no alternative but this or a
revision of the ticket; and the hitter it was afraid
to undertake.
Snowden township returned 214 votes to the
general poll on the 17th. The total vote of this

are 80 more who have no sympathy with the
Order. It wee, hence, tunny impossible to
poll anything like 214 voles honestly, especially
when there were hut 85 voters on the ground.
These 214 rotes, of witir.b 129 were fraudu
