We have no doubt he is eminently gratified to perform the arduous and responsible duties which will de volve upon him in so important a position. From the following paragraph, which we clip from the Cooperstown Journal of Friday last, it will be observed that there have been several efforts made to secure his services as Principal. "Prof. MoKown, who has just closed his la horses Principal of Cooperstown semina r y, h as nlready been elected Principal of the High School of Pittsburgh Pa., has been tendered the Presi dency:of Mansfield Female College, Ohio and has been solicited.to take the Principalship of Warn errille Seminary. 25 miles from this place, at a salary corresponding with that which he received when he first took charge of Cooperstown Sem inary. He will probably accept the first men tioned position, where the duties are not one fourth what they have been here, and where the salary. is $2,000 per annum. It is a day school for boys, under the control of the city Board of Education." "We congratulate Prof. lifoKown on the ready appreciation of his abilities as presiding offioer of an institution of learning."
