the city in Philadelphi but it was hardly pro
bable the attachment would hold, as the city of
ficers held receipts from the Philadelphia Bank
for the money.
How receipts for the money could be here
(when in due course of mail, they would not ar
rive until to-day) is to us inexplicable. Means.
O'Connor. Bro. tr..C.5. attached the money the
Maoist it reached Philadelphia, - anci there can be
no doubt but they will receive what they deserve—
fall payment of their just claims.

route to Fort's ,Anion and Sharpley were at

ed Sioux and George Sikes of Quincy, Illinois,

to-day including one to Secretary Marcy to make

PHILADYLPHIA, July 3.—New Orleans papers
of Wednesday are received.
A tremendous storm visited the harbor of
blazatlin on the let of Jane, catudng the de
famation of six vessels, with cargoes valued at
one million of dollars and drowning 23 - men.—
The only American vessel lost was the schooner
Copeland, in ballast-
CLavat.san, July 3.-00 Sunday the schooner
Rialto was capsized oft Long Point. The mate
was drowned. The Captain snd the remainder
of the crew chine to thh vessel and were secured
in about two hours after the accident.
CONCORD, July 3.—The Liquor Bill reported

enthsequent violation subjects the offender to a

Ramos. Masa, July 3.—The engine and ten
der on the Worcester and Naahua Railroad were
thrown off the track last evening. The passen
ger car was conaiderably smashed, but no pas
sengers were hurt. The engineer and fireman
were infirmly injured.
