ramas now exhibiting at Masonic Hall. The
Hall was well-filled and occasional demonstra
tions of applause indicated that everybody was
pleased .with the various . beautiful and artistic
mains-of ruins, cities, mountains, &a., which Mr.
Winters placed before the audience, The Milan
Cathedral scene is beyond all praise, and ought
to be been by everybody.

O. Bowser bad been arrested in Allegheny by
Mayor. Vols, on a charge of stealing a considera.

ged—there being no evidence that be had taken

were intoxicated end engaged in card-playing at
the time the money was taken. The Indian was
glad enough to get his each back, and was not
at all inclined to prosecute.

From St. Domingo intelligence has been receiv
ed of a conspiracy for the purpose of getting up
a revolution with a view of securing the recall of
the exiled President 13aez. The conspiracy haa
been put down. . .
Mayor Wood has issued another proclamation
on the subject of the liquor law, declaridg his in
tention to assume no doubtful prerogative, but
to guide himself entirely by the opinion of the le
gal advisers of the corporation in regard to the
period intervening before the law goes into ef
fect. He appeals to the citizens to place a mor
al restraint upon their actions, and show that co
ercion is unneeemomy.
Barron, April 27.—Evening.--0n searching
the psasengers' baggage on board the Africa, is
consequence of the robbery yesterday, a trunk
was found to contain one thousand letters which
were taken to the Custom House. They were
valuable, enclosing drafts, &c. on: Boston and
New York houses. The box belonged to the
agent of a well-lotown European Express Co.
The Senate has just toted by 22 to 11 to con
cur with the House in the resolutions for the re
moval of Judge Loring, and by about the same
majority against an atnendment permitting him
to resign his Commiosionership.
BOI6ON, April 27—i past 9, P. M.--A largo
fire is raging in the north part of the city. It
has spread over East Boston Perry wharf, Can
stitution Lincoln and Battery wharves. The
ships Diana and Phaarsalia and several ocher
vessels are on fire. The wind is very high and
the fire rages fearfully.
The space burned over is about three scree.
The loss is estimated at from $500,000 to $BOO,-
000.
PERILADILIIPIA; April 27.—Official intelligence
received at Washington confirms the account of
the arrest of the Postmaster at New Orleans foi
robbing the mail.
The groat receipts in the 11. S. Treasury for
the quarter ending the 31st alt, amount to $14,-
766,000; the expenditures $15,572,000.
WAJUINGTON Ctrr, April 27 --The receipts of
the Tre_atmry for the quarter ending March 31st
=want to $14,766,922 68, and the expenditures
$15,572,349 65. There have been 101,800 ap
plications for pensions filed up to last evening.
New Tong, April 27.—The Grand Jury of the
11. S.. District Court have found an indictment
against Col. Kinney, for violation of the neutrali
ty laws. A warrant has been issued for his ar
rest.
