in accardanee with the express wishes of a large

arrest was effected through the instrumentality
of Jl4. Lowrie, - .who overheard them dints:m

street, Allegheny city, and made the fact known
to the Mayor. They admit that they took part
in the row, but deny that the outrage was of
suCli a serious nature. as represented by some
of - the - city papers. From their - statement it
iotdd 'appear that they were crossing the
bridge: on their way to Allegheny, when they

the strueture. From the appearance of- the
men, they came to the conclusion that they bad
improper designs on the woman, and they re

Parrow Toirsanw.— . A friend in Patton Taira
, Ship sends us an account of the political wire
warktagin that part of the essuity. On the day
usually employed to make township nominations
by theoltarties he went on the ground and found
a meeting composed of 12 old-line Whigs, 12 D,sm
ocrate and 18 - Know-Nothings: A motion was
offered that all opposed to Know Nothingism
should unite and form a Union ticket. The
Democrats did not Tote on this motion, and of
course lOW Totbidown. The Democrats then
retired to another room, and those left behind
placed:hi nomination' what was called a W7di
ticket, Part of which, including one candidate
for jostice, was composed of Know Nothings.—
In the Democratic - meetings few of 'the Know
Nothings took• part, and succeeding In naming,

of the :rest of the ticket. The Know Nothing
Connell, at its next meeting, proceeded to put in
nomination a ticket of its own, made up of those
of- Its members who had, been foisted on tba
Whig and. Democratic meetings, and Arose -to
keep the`whole matter's profound secret. But
the members of the old parties can saw how
things' stood, and proceeded to form a Union
ticket, which they triumphantly - elected, by a
iota of 97 to 42. Hurts for Patton township!
