A morning and an at .terreson session - were held; at the close of the ' - latter the Convention finally adjourned. The principal business before the Convention was the hearing of reports of Committees ap pointed at s prior meeting held in Cleveland. At that , meeting the following resolution - was rinsed: vecl Bwolt, - That Committees be appointed to consist of three, - to report at the next meeting upon the 'following aubjects: 1.-The police and management of Railroads; the control and resiiinsibllity of employees. 2.—The repairs of Roadiays and the expe diency and extent of renewal funds. B.—The safety of persons and property, in Railroad transportation. 4—The - comfort and convenience of care, and travelers thereon. b.—The expediency, extent and detail of sink . ing funds for the redemption of Bonds. B.—The interchange and transmission, and lose and damage of freight. 7.— AL committee to report upon the principle which should govern the distribution of joint re- , .twiPta B.—Tlutt the Chair, . (C. Vibbard,) at its ear liest convenience appoint and notify by mail, the committees under the last resolution. Alsapt, Esq., of the Pennsylvania Central R. It. Chairman, J. Brauer, Esq.,of the Pa. and B. R.R. and B. W. Roberts, Req., of the O. &P_ R. R. pre sented an able report which will be published -with the proceedings, in p.imphlet form, in a few days. Resolved, That thin' conrention recognize the prinsiple that in the distribution ofjoint receipts any extra expenses incurred by any ono compa ny for the common benefit of the whole brie shall be re-imbursed and the remainder divided per mile. . Mertz. The Grind Jury /subse quently found a true bill againat him and the ease came up at the last term of the Court of Quarter t3essions, when on motion of his counsel it was continued till the neit term, arid he was admitted to baii. On Tees* last, his bail, suspecting Dickson was about to decamp, took out a bail-piece and placed it in the hands of Constable Neely, of I Manchester. Yesterday, Dickson went to the office of Mr. Horner Clerk of the Quarter Ses edons, and bad a sub poena issued for a witness for the defence. Constable Neely happened to drop in upon him while he =a there, and took the subpcena from him with the promise to serve it. They went out of the - office' together, and just as they got into the hall, Neely made a pab, but Dickson was on the look.out and with a sin gle leap got beyond his reach and rushed out of the ConrtHouse and away!—where, nobody can tell. We are informed that there are three separate indictments again' at Dickson; one for burglary, one for larceny, and one for passing counterfeit money. We hope str. Feiss Purrimers.— Bernhard Miller was charged before Aid. Steel, yesterday, with ob taining goods under false pretences, on oath of J. t Simpson. Simpson alleges that Miller ob tained-some $4O worth of goods from him, and gave him as security for payment a pension certificate; . that when the pension became due, Miller represented that he (Simpson) held his pension illegally; that he drew his money on such representation; and when Simpson presen ted the certificate, ho found It to be worthless to him.
