their gusts, the Borer Guards, was a brilliant
affair. The supper was very ha ndsomely served.
and Messrs. Bryson & Shirts deserve much praise
for their efforts in this regard. Daring the eve

and Gen. Lorimer were severally toasted, and re,

eloquent and feeling speech in answer to a toast
respecting the Volunteer Soldiers in the Mexi
can War; and his Honor, the Mayor, nude a few
remarks when the cities of Pittsburgh and Cin
cinnati were toasted. The
of
of Judge
Wilkins was the great feature - of the evening.—
It was delivered with the ease and grace char
acteristic of that gentleman, and abounded in
reminiscences both interesting and new, as well
as highly - honorable to him. The other speeches
of the-evening were conceived In excellent spirit
and received - with vociferous applause. The
company broke up at a late hour, and all present
seemed to enjoy themselves heartily. ,
The Guards departed for - their homes yester
day, much gratified with their visit, notwithstand
