TRAVILESS a Taounxe.—Several gentlemen
called upon Mayor Adams, of Allegheny, on
Thursday last, statinethat 'they had purchased
in New York through tickets to Cincinnati, by
way of the Ohio river, from the agent of the
Pittsburgh and Cincinnati Packet Line. The
Mayor examined the tickets, judged them to be
, genuine, and directed the travelers to see the
:managers of the above company, who would
'doubtless make reparation for their disappoint
ment. They accordingly -left, - and as they did
not return, it was presumed they had matters
final to! their entire satisfaction: It -was the
opinion of many that the river would be naviga
ble thlti winter; but the propriety 'of -selling
through tickets iu anticipation of that event, is
certainly questionable. -
NIAGARA FALLS IS MINIATIIIIC.—The model
of Niagara FaNsorow on Exhibition at Lafayette

a tract of country one mile in width and four in
length—showing accurately . everything in the
vicinity of the Falls—the various Lslands, villagee,
bridges, railroads, farms, etc. It is well worth
a visit ; ' and we venturo to say that a better idea
can he . hud from one hour's examination of the
model; than from volumes of written descrip
tions.
