Corn. vs. Jonas 8.. Cornelius ; indictsbent,
passing counterfeit money, on oath of Joseph
Rosier. Oa the 23;1 of September last, the prose
cutor alleges that Cornelius came to his father's
store in Allegheny city, and purchased of him, a
-pair of shoes, and gave in payment a five dollar
note, on the Phmnix Bank of Chicago. -It ap
peared from the testimony of the prosecutor that,
the note was never pasSed, but only affered ;
and the shoes and., note mere both kohl by the
,prosecutor, and action entered. The jury re
turned a verdict of not gully. The defendant
in this case, who was tried on Itlon\lsts. on a
charge of highway robbery, has thus been
promptly adjudged gailtless, and there being no
-other charges against him, he was discharged by
Ole Court.
