A Di nem"' oecnrred yesterday between the
workme . on the Pittsburgh and -Steubenville

Wood, 1 . : South Pittsburgh, which resulted in

It seem that the company were about erecting

the aforesaid Wood, when the men in his employ
'mere otred to drive them away, which they
did. A esman Steel sent three officers to the
ocean of disorder, and the railroad men again at
tempted to go to work, but were most furiously
assailed by Wood's workmen. As the matter

making any farther remarks on the subject.

M. Eurross--I observed in your local col
umn of Srsturstly.last, a statement in regard to
the case ofheraft re. the City of . Pittsburgh;
wisieh is entenlated to mislead. The Court pro.
nounced arriodgment on the merits of the cane,
or the quertions of law iniolved in it. The
judgment Nes reversed solely becauie the Court
considered - .the case stated agreed on 'by lir.
. Craft and M. Rippey to be so defectie m _the
statement of the facts, that no final judgment
Could be given on it.' They therefore reversed
the judgment and'aent the cutback to the Court
below, that it might be tried era case properly
stated:This 'was all that wag done.' The reversal
was therefore a mere matter of form, leaving
the merits of the case wholly undecided.
