between aparty of Protestants and Getman Cath
olics. The difficulty orighmted in 'an attempt to
organize - a Sabbath School in the neighborhood,
which was forcibly resisted by the latter who at
tacked the house Vented for the purpose and
threatened death to any person who would at
tempt to oiginize a Sabbath SehooL Three per
sons were wounded by pistol shots.
Wm. Mame, of Martha Washington notoriety,
was arrested here toklay, on a requisition from
the Governor of New York, on a charge of corn
mittingthe late forgeries hoNew York city. - He
was brought before Judge Storer on a writ of
habeas corpus, the trial on which is continued
until Monday next.
