Convention was held here to-day, and made the
following nominations: For Governor, John S.
Barry; for Lieut. Governor, W. A. Richmond,
and for Secretary of State, W. L. Bancroft.
The Convention then adjourned until to-mor
row.
PumtneLmus, September 15.—The reporbto
the city councils in relation to the affairs of the
Sunbury and Erie Railroad, is publish . ed this
.morning, and confirms '.the previous impression
that instalments of the city subscription had heat
obtained on false representations.
The whole amount paid in by the city is 95t),-
WO, beside 350,000 paid by the district of Rich
mond, leasing unpaid by the city $5,050,000.
No second instalment of any itock has been paid
iniexcept by the city, though the terms of sub
scription were that no instalments should be paid
until an equal amount was paid by the other
subscribers.
