seemed so unreasonable and =oestrous a propo
sitter', that "few could believe that ao flagrant a

In the 18th Congressional district of Ohio
the Anti-Nebraska men hive nominated Benj.
I'. Leiter, of Stark, as their candidate for Con
gress. The district is composed of .Stark, Sum
mit and Portage counties. Mr. Leiter eras for
merly a democrat, and was at one time Speaker
of the Ohio House of Representatives. He pre
.sided at the State Anti-Nebraska Convention,
held on the 13th of July.
The Democrats of Dauphin countylave nom=
Luttod broitor. LAUX/IN fel; Congress. Lauman
is the editor of the. Dcmocralic Union, a violent
opponent of Bigler, and has been denounced and
traduced Irithout stint in Bigler's organ, the
Irarris6ur§ , Patriot. His noinination, therefor*,
right under the Governor's nose, is an instance
o rebellion as grosses thet*lnifcsted in the late
Democratic convention in this county.

tertained respecting the sentiments of Mr. Grow,
of Wilmot's district, without good authority. I
repeat that in my delittertite judgment Mr. Grow
isnot to be trusted by a free State constituency,
either upon the restoration of the Missoun
Compromise, the repeal of the Fugitive act, or
the Slavery question in general. I need hardly
say that I have not formed this opinion from
the previous political associations of Mr. LGrow,
and were I a constituent of his I would infinitely
prefer him, Lif satisfied that ho could he relied
upon to oppose the policy of slavery extension,

Kansas is similar, in climate, soil and agricul
tural adaptation, to our own State, and therefore
wo hope to see its rich- fields settled and its fu

their Missouri neighbors. This would promote
