CINCIXILVII, July 6.
A dispatch from Independence, dated 30th,
says that the Balt Lake mail reached there last
night, bringing but. little news of interest from
the Valley. - Business wan dull. All partica were

Many traders with their trains were getting
along as .well as could be expected from the great
amount of rain that had fallen. Almost every
dream wan impassable'. Some merchants and
emigrant parties wem at t3oirth7'latte, and other
streants,water bound.
T be Pawnee Indians bad been troubleitome to
a few parties of eniigrants. They made a de
mand of, their prcrrisions, and robbed them of
their anithils, with little fear of punlehment from
tbe' soldiers at the Forth.
Fulness resembling Cholera had commenced
in the different trains' between Itearney and
Laramie, and many halide and emigrants had
died.' The names of many of the parties could
hot be ascertained, as they were buried off from
the toad. There his been no registry kept at
FortifearneY this year' f the moo, 'Women and
children gone out, or different kinds at stock.
It is estimated that there arernot as many etai
grants other than Mormons, by one-half on the
road, nor as many cattle andltorres by one-third
or one-half. The find, _party ..of .MormOns were
only out about 150 or 400 miles.- The new mail
contractor to Salt Lake and - Santo Fe commences
operations to-morrow; they are new stocking the
road. Other companies of them go out by Fort
Riley, and open up a new road 'to Laramie.
