The report of the Committee on Systematic
Benevolence was adopted with, trifling 'amend
ments, and the followinggentlemen were appoin
ted a Committee on systematic - benevoletice: the
Rev.. B . N. Smith, J. Robinson, and James L
Dixon. The election forditirectors of the Semi
nary Boards, resulted tha same as last year,
except that the Rev E. E. Swift was chosen in
place of the Rev. .1. M. Cook, declined, in the
Allegheny Seminary. . •
A Committee of one from each Synod reported
on the subject of Ministerial support. They re
commend resolutions mod - eating _the Churches
not to hold out hopes of large salaries to
Minititers, and also recommend Presbyteries to
decline allowing a Minister to settle in a congre
gation able to support a pastor, without he re
ceives sufficient Support. The report was adop
ted after a warm debate.
'Dr. Hodge-introduced resolutions in substance
similar to the majority report on Church exten
sion, whist was tabled yesterday.

Five lumens only are known to have been kill
ed by the explosion—The 'bodies or. fragments
at four of them have been found. - lin inquest
was held on the remains by the Deputy Coronor.
Their'names are John Keys, Robert Chambers,
and Thomas Laney, drivers of tho teams, and
Robert Henry, a colored man, and William Sil
cox. Tho explosion was felt at the Brick Meet
ing minim, thirty-five miles South of Wilmington.
The total loss is estimated at not less thaw $16,-
