The right of the Mexican Dictator to blockade
the port of Acapulco against the whole world,
may or may not be 6 questionable one, under the

aginst the regular mail steamers, on the Pad-

other affair. The inconvenience, great as it is,
Is overshadowed by the consideration of danger
to the mail steamers and their passenger", by

of fuel. Besides, as regular mail carriers, they
are entitled to immunity in a ease of blockade

captives of other animals besides their own dear.
" On one occasion," so Said a clergyman .Thom

the the

company with a young female, was driving the
bard through the forest, they accidentally roused

very 'fortunately, had the lasso in her' hand,
which, with mat cooleness and Am, she threw
over his heed, as ha was slowly quitting his den,
and at the Immo instant •co4ed the other end of
the thong aronnd a trim. The brute on thus find

Amason, but, as she slipped to one side, he (arena=

of the tether, was, in sailor's language, brought
short up and `thrown to the 'ground. Bruin's
career wee revives at end, for, in seising the
thong with his Fore, and by so doing tightening
'the'noose, he . . presently managed to strangle
-himself. '' The Lapp, on seeing the beast charge
the girl, took fright and ran away; and, as o
'consequence the bold • wench; who was to have
married him, sent him at once to the right about
very properly refusing to hare any thing more
to say to on dastardly a fellow.
