ments especially, was replete with cepression
and feeling The two following Orchestra pieces
were given with fine effect,: and in the CI tie mean
ing of the illustrious author.. The gem of the
evening, however, of the orchestral pieces, woe
the overture to "Midsummer Night 's -Dream."
The effect of it was almost magical; and cannot
fail to Impress every one wtio has a scul capa
ble of enjoying true music.
With regard to that little prodigy,: Mile limo,
we can only say go and tear her, for otherwise
you cannot believe it possible that a slight and
fragile little girl should be possessed of such
masterly command of that moat difficult instru
ment, thoNiolin. Verily, it le s fortunate thing
that the fair sex but rattly undertake to excel
on that instrument, for the above is a striking
example of a power and capacity for it which
has caused veterans and greybeards In the pro

Tharemaining Orchestra pieces, the Champaign
Gain, and Hadetsky March, were very °hares
