upon the table, the Convention resolving tbst
the next primary meetings shell be governed
by the rules which regaleted the last.
Raolrrd, That the members of ibis nod each

respective distriots, choosing a Judge, with him
constituting a primary election beard, to conduct
an election upon the latit Saturday of May an •
smelly, at which they shall receive the voles of,
all the party for two delegates to the County'
Convention, and for all offices to be filled at the .
next anoint election—making return of, eald
votes to .such convention, (which ehall meet
On the succeeding Wednesday,) by the hands of
the delegates so chum by ballot. That said dole•
gates shall have no vote, further than as indica
ted
by the vole of the party in their respective
districts—except incase of tie vows.
The following resolution was then, on motion,
adopted:
Resolved, That we view with - approbation the
course .pursited by our Representative, Hon.
Thomas hi. Howe. in his voter against every
proposition calculated to embittering the plunge
of the - Homestead Bill, which recently passed
the Howie of Repreeentatives, and that ite pee
sage in the'Benate will be hailed by as with
pleasure, as calculated to deeslope the rent:vices
of our country, and prevent farther speculation
in the public lauds.
Mr. Holtz moved that the Convention do now
adjourn, and that a new one be called to meet
on the second Wednesday of. August, for the
purpose of nominating a candidate for emigrant!.
Before the question was put, it was resolved that
the Chairman shall appoint an executive com
mittee for the eneolog year.

public mind, in Allegheny County, which in
view of the necessity of a cordial union, it is
very desirable to avoid.

to confer with a similar delegation from:Boiler
county, be and they hereby are instructed to use
all proper means to procure the nomination of
Mr Howe. And it Is further
Resofeed, That:we have full confidence in the
justice and magnanimity of the Whigs of Butler
county, and that we look forward with oath,

to second the choice of Butler county with the
