Afternoon Session.—The Assembij proceeded
to hear reports from the delegateS of corres

the general Convention at Vermont, gave a de

of that State, of which 'a large majority are
Congregationalists; the next largest body was
the Dentists, the next the Melhodists—and then
a few Episcopalian churches. The intellectual,
moral and religious condition of the State is
highly favorable, and it sends out more mis

other State. In proportion to its population.
The General Conference of Maine was repre

consists of 226 - Churcher, with about 17,000
members in the State. On the other hand,
there are 100,000 children in the State, without

division of coots prevent systematised efforts.
The effect of the Maine Liquor Law Is salutary.
